What is the activation or set-up fee for Mailigen?

Mailigen is free to set up and even use it for 30 days, no strings attached.

How do I pay for using Mailigen?

You can pay with all major credit cards or wire transfer to our company account. Please request these details through our contact page. If paying by credit card, it will be billed monthly or annually depending on which contract period you select.

Do you charge per email or per subscriber?

Our service fee depends on the size of your subscriber/contact list and not per email. Other systems charge per email, this can become very expensive, especially if you are sending multiple emails to your subscriber list per week. While credit system or cost per email would quickly get expensive. With Mailigen, you pay a flat monthly fee for a level of subscribers and your can send UNLIMITED emails to this list each month. 

Is there a minimum contract period for using Mailigen?

No, there is no minimum contract period. First you can sign up for Free 30 Day Trial, then upgrade to any size plan on month-to-month basis.

What kind of training do I need to use Mailigen?

Mailigen is intuitive and easy to use system that you should be comfortable of using right away, however, a signle one hour training session would be sufficient. For setting up such a training session, please contact our support team!

Security and Privacy

Will you ever access my account?

If there is a problem, which cannot be fixed any other, way and you give us permission. This would be exceptional though.

How secure are my stored newsletters, images and mailing lists?

Very secure? Here at Mailigen, security is of paramount importance and the Mailigen system is comprehensively protected. Mailigen features a high level of hardware and software security configuration including sophisticated firewall policies and back-up procedures. Your activities and even your IP addresses are always logged securely and, furthermore, in line with our privacy policy, we do not release any data to third parties.

Does Mailigen keep a backup of my data?

Yes. Mailigen routinely backs up all your data on a basis and mirrors it with another server. This means that if one server fails, the other one kicks in. Although your data is secure with us, we do recommend that you occasionally download your current member lists from Mailigen whenever you log in to send a campaign. This is a “belt-and-braces” exercise which enables you to recover your list(s) in the event that someone makes an error in the account.

System Requirements

Do I need special software and hardware to purchase to support Mailigen?
No. Because Mailigen is a web-based email broadcast product, there is no need to buy any additional hardware or software. A web browser like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and an internet connection is all you’ll ever need.

Is it possible to download Mailigen and install it?

No. Mailigen is a web application so, again, all you need is a web browser and an internet connection. When you log in with your username and password, the Mailigen system recognizes you and securely amends all content accordingly.

What about screen resolution?

This refers to the number of pixels displayed on your screen. The minimum resolution for comfortable Mailigen use is 1024x768. Any lower than this may require you to scroll both horizontally and vertically to visually access all the features of the console.
 

Subscribe and Unsubscribe

How will I know if there are any new subscriptions?

Mailigen’s contact summary page is designed to notify you of any recent activity including new subscribers and other relevant subscription data.

What happens to a person’s contact details if they unsubscribe?

When a contact unsubscribes, their details are non-erasable. This serves to reduce the possibility of unsubscribers being accidentally imported into the system at a later date. Our system cross-references between subscriber/unsubscriber lists to make sure that unsubscribers never receive unwanted messages.

How do contacts unsubscribe?

Each message you send to contacts using Mailigen must have a link that recipients can follow should they wish to remove themselves permanently from future mailings. This is built in as standard feature but you should make sure that you have entered your own message for the unsubscribe text and link.
 

Managing Contacts, Groups and Sources

How many lists can I create?

As many as you like. Fully organizing your contacts may involve the creation of many separate lists with each one containing subscribers. You can create a separate list for each newsletter, for each interest group or for each demographic that you wish to target.

What happens to ‘bounced’ e-mails?

You can save alot of time here because Mailigen enables you to manage your bounced emails, and does all the sorting automatically.  We also take into account the number of bounces in the analysis reports.

How do I import contacts?

Once your contacts are organized to match import rules, you can import them using either a .csv or .xls file. Mailigen scans the imported data for duplicates, badly formatted records, cross-references them against unsubscribed contacts and then reports on them. Receiving and Sending Email Newsletters

Why can’t my recipients see images?
Mailigen doesn’t embed images. Instead, images are downloaded from their online location. There are two big advantages to this: 1) Emails of a smaller size are more efficient and 2) This prevents the email being stopped by ISPs on account of size.

Can I use my email address as the ‘From’ address?

Yes, Mailigen automatically defines and sets you as the sender of the e-mail, 'From' email address is the one you indentified upon registration. You can change your email for the ‘Reply-to’ so when recipients click on the ‘Reply’ button in their email application, you get the emails that require your attention.

Can the recipient’s name appear in the ‘To’ field?

Absolutely. This is dependent upon your contact database containing name fields.

What about personalization?

You can customize the ‘To Name’ field and any part of the message so that is displays your choice of greeting. E.g. “Dear Mr. Jones” or “Dear David Jones” or “David Jones” etc. Further
Personalization fine-tuning can be accomplished by adding more data fields such as locality, product name, etc.

Can I add attachments to my email newsletters?

Yes. Documents can be physically attached, but you should consider issues that could make your emails prone to interception by corporate firewalls and spam filters. You can, however, include a link to a document which will give you the same outcome.
 

Designing Newsletters

Do you have HTML email templates we can use?

Yes. We have a very comprehensive library of HTML email templates available and are adding more each week. They are remarkably simple to use and can be edited using our built-in HTML editor. We can also produce a bespoke HTML template for a nominal rate.

Can you design email templates for my company?

We can supply your initial ‘Company Template’ when you purchase Mailigen. This template is designed to reflect your corporate identity and applies to the HTML Editor and Company template. Neither plain text nor HTML Upload messages are affected.
